The Purchasing of Wind Creek Bethlehem & Plans Going Forward

On May 31, Wind Creek finalised its purchase for the Pennsylvania property, together with its convention center from previous owners Las Vegas Sands at a cost of $1.3 billion (NZ$1 928 225 000). Wind Creek also mentioned its plans to invest a further $340 million (NZ$504 437 600) in refurbishing the property. The renovations plans include the construction of a new 300-room hotel tower which will boost the existing 282 hotel rooms at the casino resort. The company also wants to add an extra convention space which will take up 42 000 square feet. Other plans also include transforming the derelict No.2 Machine shop next to the casino into a water and theme park which will take up 300 000 square feet. An additional 400-450 room hotel is proposed for the adventure park.

“One of the things that drew us to this property is the quality and experience of the service-minded employees,” said Wild Creek Hospitality CEO James Dorris. “Each of the nine executives has accepted a multi-year contract with us, and we hope that all team members want to continue their work here as part of the Wind Creek family. We will need them as we grow the offerings at Wind Creek Bethlehem,” Dorris added.

The operator currently owns other casinos in Albama, Aruba, Curacao, Nevada and Florida.

The Property’s Successes

Wild Creek Bethlehem is one of the popular leisure and gambling destinations. It is Wild Creek’s biggest properties and attracts nine million visitors every year. The casino rakes more in table game revenue compared to any other casino in PA. Hopefully, the venue will do even better once the park is set and online gaming is introduced at the facility.
